We had an excellent array of stalls - food, craft, activities and others
A main feature of Summerfest is the excellent MG Car show
Several stage acts and arena displays kept the crowd entertained
Summerfest occurs at the beginning of the Rotary year, and so I must thank last year's team for organising the event. So many are involved, including Billericay Round Table, Billericay Rotary Club and The Rotary Club of Basildon, as well as our own members.
The Stallholders create the atmosphere of the day, and we are well entertained by the bands and other performers both on stage and in the arena - as well as other attractions, such as the fairground rides and fire appliances and, of course, the excellent car show.
I must also thank our sponsors, without whom this event would not take place; but mostly I must thank you for attending - your attendance allows us to create a great community event and to raise money for Rotary charities.
Being part of Rotary is more than just giving back to the community by volunteering. It is also about bringing your skills, experience and enthusiasm to help it thrive, whilst making some great friends along the way.
Summerfest is on Queen Elizabeth II Field (previously Sun Corner) in Billericay - set the postcode on your SatNav to CM12 9JZ. Free car parking is available on site.
We meet on a Thursday evening at the Burstead Golf Club for dinner at 8pm. As well as Summerfest, we are also responsible for Billericay Christmas Market and other events around the town.
